Wendy A. Okolo, a Nigerian born scientist, made history at the age of 26 by becoming the first Black woman to earn a PhD in aerospace engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2015. She is currently serving as an aerospace research engineer in NASA.
My youngest sons received homeschooling, which was convenient because we could access and adjust the online curriculum as we wished. We faced some challenges and successes along the way, but the outcome has been very gratifying. It requires a lot of dedication and effort, but we are proud of enabling our children to explore the world without the public school perspective.
