69 Countries Expected To Attend BRICS Summit in August.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has invited 69 countries to attend the BRICS summit in August. Ramaphosa sent invitations to the head of state of 69 developing nations expanding to Asia, Africa, and South America. The invitations are also extended to the Global South bodies such as Israel, the Caribbean, Australia, and New Zealand. However, it is not known how many countries will accept the invitation and attend the summit in person or virtually.

South African Ambassador said that Ramaphosa is keen on seeing a large presence of world leaders at the BRICS summit. If all 69 nations accept the invitation, the BRICS summit will see the largest gathering of heads of state at the table. The majority of countries that are invited to attend the BRICS summit come from the African continent.

“President Ramaphosa took a decision to invite the entire (African) continent to the BRICS Plus (summit). As well as all of the political heads of the major Global South bodies. So, in total about 69 leaders have been invited,” said Sooklal.

Nonetheless, leaders from the U.S. and Europe have been prohibited from attending the upcoming summit in South Africa. French President Emmanuel Macron was keen to be a part of the summit, but his request was turned down.
If all 69 countries attend the BRICS summit, it could send a strong message that the developing world is united. This puts the U.S. and Europe under pressure as many countries would ditch the U.S. dollar for trade. Read here to know how many sectors in the U.S. could be affected by the development. BRICS is an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The upcoming summit will be held in Johannesburg on August 22 to 24. Only Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the conference virtually in fear of being arrested for war crimes.

STEPS FOR BEGINNING FARMERS, RANCHERS and VETERANS

1-Obtain land, whether by deed (ownership), lease or other means. (apartment balconies or porches)

2-Make an appointment to Visit your local Farm Service Office (FSA), to get a farm service number.

3- Bring appropriate documents to visit: tax information, bank statements, legal paperwork and personal id.

4-Think about your vision. (What would you like to do?) List your challenges.

DURING YOUR VISIT

1-Register for a farm service number. This is required to participate in USDA programs. You will need either a SS number or EIN. If you are an LLC, your authority to sign paperwork may be required.

2-Discuss your business and conservation goals. Your local FSA or NRCS team need to understand your vision in order to recommend programs for you. Ex. Are you looking for capital, to rebuild after a natural disaster, improve soil health, etc.

3-Make a plan to meet conservation compliance provisions and do an environmental review. . File form AD-1026, to preserve wetlands.

4-Verify eligibility. File a CCC-941 form to verify your AGI (adjusted gross income)does not exceed $900,000.

5-File your program application. FSA can help with the forms.

6-Sign up for emails and texts to stay informed about updates and changes.

After Visit

1-File your acreage reports throughout the year.

2-Keep in touch with the local office.

3-Create a farmers.gov account to manage your USDA business.

4-Get a receipt of the visit. Demand one. This protects you, if any questions arises-in the future.
