Poetry may be unpopular..
But it’s tellin the truth…
Ya people don’t understand
The metaphors, deep meanings
Behind a poem
Though

Why hate the poet….
You think poets ain’t cool
Writin poetry ain’t cool

Cos nobody reads poems anymore…

Like it’s so outdated…


Correct?

But there’s poetry in songs
And raps….in stories…

But you said poetry ain’t cool

Somehow you sing a lyric by yourself
With nobody around…there’s poetry in love
Letters, too….your thoughts are poetry
In a way…poetry doesn’t help you
Pay bills or anythin like that…

I guess people still think
Poetry ain’t cool
Poetry lovers ain’t cool
I guess I’m not cool to you, too…

Well fuck you….

Poetry is my light
Poetry is my shootin star…
Who are you to tell me that
Poetry is not cool
You listen to some fake ass low vibrations
Hip hop….that’s poetry, it’s makin

Is that cool?
Cos poets spit words
Like beautiful wild flames…

It could be just a poem….

Poems have human feelings
That comes from the sound of
Your soul…your soul speaks
And the readers the audience
Listen carefully….

Poets tell it like it is..
And poets lie too

Don’t hate us
We’re humans too
We’re artists as well
We use people’s brains as paper to paint pictures…
And we use our hearts to make people feel….

Poets are cool
Poetry is beautiful
It’s everywhere
You may not hear it everyday
However it’s somebody’s voice
A voice for someone who is afraid to speak up
To call out against…

You see
Poetry is supposed to inspire to do the right thing
To expose the truest colors of the world of today’s society….
It’s more than romantic
It’s more than roses are red violets are blue
It’s supposed to heal you and get you to think outside the box….

You can say nobody reads poetry anymore
But a word can give birth to a sentence turnin into a paragraph and then maybe a poem
And poem is birthing a story or song…even a professional letters…

See poetry is everywhere…

You can’t necessarily cancel poetry if you really want to…
You don’t see it often..
