I used to have a love journal…
With doodle heart, a drawn out rose
I was an amorist…I still am…
I write about my daydreams and ideas
Crushes, boyfriends….

As you can see,
I was hopeless romantic…
On my pages I’ve written love poems
About wantin someone to love to the moon and back

While listenin to those sweet ballads that capture
My heart…I used to bring my love journal
In creative writin class…just ink these words about
A boy meets girl fall in love and live happily ever after….

I didn’t write about my disability or
Being black, I just wanted to feel butterflies
For someone…the only issue is these boys
Was not that into me….

I still kept my love journal…
I wrote about love
I wrote about teenage romance I was fantasizin

I did have several love journals. I still have them. It brings me back on those days in high school writing love poems in class. I love creative writing class. My teacher name was Ms. Carter. She enjoyed my poems. She can tell she has a romantic student in her class. If I see her again, she would say I haven’t changed. Ya it’s true I haven’t changed a bit. However my writing has changed a whole lot though. It did branch out and it becomes a heavy brick you can’t even lift on your shoulders. Now I write the truth about the today’s society and black power. I also write about white supremacy. Ya my poems trigger a lot of souls.
