What I Owe My Daughters

I’ve asked myself one question over and over again:
What can I give my daughters that will outlive me?

Not toys. Not clothes. Not even just money. I'm talking about something that protects them, that guides them, that gives them the strength to stand when the world tries to knock them down.

For years, I wrestled with that question. I stressed, I lost sleep, and like any parent, I wanted to bubble-wrap them from the world. But the world doesn’t work like that. The world isn’t soft. It isn’t always kind.

So I changed the question:Instead of "How do I protect my daughters?" I asked,"How do I teach them to protect themselves?"
And that’s when everything shifted.

I started teaching them young not just how to survive, but how to live free. I taught them to shoot when they were old enough to understand what a trigger does. I taught them to fight not because I want them to fight, but because the world sometimes gives you no choice.

I taught them what it means to be a lady, yes but a lady who doesn’t fold under pressure. I taught them how to carry themselves, how to see their value, how to never be defined by who likes them, or what the world says they should be.

And above all, I taught them about their rights not the ones given by man, but the ones given by God. The kind of rights no government gives and no law can take. The right to speak. The right to defend themselves. The right to believe. The right to be free.

If you're a mom or dad reading this, hear me: we can’t wait for schools or society to teach our children these things. It’s on us.

We owe them more than lectures and warnings we owe them knowledge. We owe them tools. We owe them the truth.
So every time someone asks me,
"Why did you teach your my daughters all that? "My answer is simple:
Because if they can survive until I get there, I’ll always be on the way.
And until I arrive, I want them to know they are never helpless. Raise daughters who know who they are. Raise sons who protect what’s right. And raise families who know their worth.

We don’t just raise kids we raise the future. Let’s raise it strong. Let’s raise it free.
