Sweet baby
Sweet baby
That’s all she wants to be
His sweet baby…
In his arms while he sleeps at night
There’s somethin about a boyfriend’s love
How he makes her stay….
How he makes her heart sings…
The way he calls her
Sweet baby,
Years go by
He became her husband
Still callin her sweet baby
Even in front of their beautiful children
And he dances with her in the quiet kitchen….
He sings my sweet baby
Oh another full of blissful years
Go by
A 90 year milestone weddin anniversary
They become elders still in love
And he says, “this is my sweet baby.”
She blushes…
In all front of their great grandchildren…
They witnessed their love story
They see them dancin to their classic motown
In the livin room….
For the first time
He met her
He knew from the start
She will be his sweet baby
And he told her
When they were friends
Yet she didn’t believe him…
She thought it was all a joke….
He never gave up the chase…
Between long seasons passin by
She realized she loves him….
She said I’m his sweet baby….
Cos he was always there
When she needs him….
When she was broken….
It dawned on her
Her heart kept tellin she belong to him
Kept dreamin about marryin him
And she can’t stop thinkin about him…
Mr. Right was in her face
The whole time….
It wasn’t a good timin til she had a
Lightbulb moment…
He’s her best friend who’s waitin for her
To come and be his sweet baby….
She opened her heart to him and felt safe….
And they told their story to their loved ones
About
Real love is patient
How it stands in front of your face
Waitin for you to open your heart and
Feel safe….
To be someone’s sweet baby is to be someone’s
Forever honeybun
No matter how hard it is
How much effort you put into….
Knowin relationships ain’t beautiful fairytales…
But you have a special person who loves you back….
A special person who wants to hold your hand too
In random times
The one who tells you you’re so beautiful
Even though you feel like a wreck….
Who doesn’t mind callin you a cute nickname
Like sweet baby or
Somethin…
He calls her sweet baby…
Cos she’s the sweetest lady in the world…
She’s got a precious compassion…
A tender soul
A kind smile
Her eyes are full of beauty
And it makes him fall in love with her
Over and over….
That’s why she’s his sweet baby….

This is one of my favorite quotes. We are the light. Our souls are the light. They successfully dim our light. But nonetheless, we are the light.
Did Dr. MLK do us a service or disservice? He inspired us. He empowered us. He did his job. He fulfilled his purpose. They traumatized us then rocked right back to sleep.
Instead of continuing on with the stregnth he gave us, we let them break us, and continue to break us while feeding us breadcrumbs in the form of crack and subsidies. Is that what we do in relationships? Let them beat us down? Manipulate us? Gaslight us?
Or do we leave them, take time to heal and reshine our light with elevation knowing that there is better out there, if we allow ourselves to attract it (Law of attraction applies here too). Does it hurt yes? But it doesnt have to break us. Nope!
We are the inventors, the innovators, and the creators.... the healers. Our women create entire populations in every skin color known to human kind. We are the strong ones physically and mentally and have the biggest heart and souls. What if we kept the fight going and reached total equality. We would have still been black just equally black. Because of who we are, we would have still created our own spaces with our own culture. We allows ourselves to become complacent. This is just accountability. I love us now and later. There will never be a time when Im not B1 and that means honoring Dr.
Martin Luther King today and everyday. ❤️🖤💚
