When is the last time you pick up a book?
Like an actual book?
In your open hands?
Do you miss turnin the page?
A print out chapter one?
The smell? The words? The author?

It’s been awhile..

I think the books miss our hands
Our eyes, our glasses our minds our souls
They missed people…
They miss our readin, our learnin,
Our touched emotions..

When is the last time you went to the library?
A place where your imagination was invited..
How you used to borrow books with a library card..
I remember

I used to go to the poetry section
And gettin all the inspiration from the greatest poets….

What about a bookstore?
Buyin too many journals and sketchbooks..

So my friend, my dear friend
When is the last time you pick up a book?
Since technology took over, it pull people away from paper
It’s on screen and you still read…

Though old school ways still lingers,
They don’t erase
Cos some hands still hold the book
Still feel the pages…

Sometimes devices need a break
From our fingers sometimes…

It’s alright to touch a real book..
See how smooth the pages are…
It’s really somethin…

You know books miss our humanity…
They need love, too
So is the pencil, pens, Even a writin feather…

When is the last time, the last time you read a book?
Not kindle not online books nor apps..
A real life book that you read in bed at night
Or on the couch durin your leisure?

Even though
Writin poems about racism white
Supremacy doesn’t help to erase
The issues, doesn’t help black communities
To get somethin done to fix our things
But it does get your brain goin…

It does keep you aware and learn understandin…
Yet what are we goin to do about it?
What are our solutions?
What is our code?
What are the constructive things to do as melaninated race?
Besides marchin, protestin?

A lot of y’all don’t know we’re at war…

What can we do?
We can’t debate
That doesn’t help
Arguments are no good…

It gets difficult to unite
As a people….
Cos we put too much disagreements
On the table…
And some of us invite other races to join our fight
We need to learn and relearn how to be on our own
Without anyone else…
We have to learn who’s the sambo and who’s not..

See
We’re deeply damagin
To the point
That we keep fightin each other…
Too many of us are afraid to pass away
Too many of us are scared of white supremacy
And we’re on our best behaviors…

To me
That’s heartbreakin…
We can’t stand our ground
We wanna be non violent

Yet racism keeps hurtin us,
and hurtin us
And hurtin us
For years
Yeah fight back
However
We don’t see ourselves fighting
Back that much..
Only a little bit…

We see ourselves killing
Each other all the time
Not towards other races

Cos again we got so much love for
Everyone except us
Our own people…

I know writin Poems about racism white supremacy
Doesn’t change anythin but to change hearts and minds of
Some people who ain’t aware, who are willin to understand the truth
And others don’t give a fuck…

There are some black people
Who are doin the work for the community
They don’t do social media
They helped black families they helped to clean the hoods
And projects they do that from the hearts…I bet they encourage black people
To go to black owned businesses without givin any attention
Cos you know how white supremacy do

They always destroy when we succeed…

I’m still goin to write about white supremacy racism
Til my last breath.. it’s my message…
Cos it still needs to be addressed
It still needs an action as well
Honestly in this harshest real world
Nobody wants to do the work….
Only a few out there
And not so many..
A lot of black people are still ignorant waitin on Jesus
And allah and Yahweh to save us all
When we ourselves can save our own black asses…
