To the core…like why do you
Hate your own melanin?
And I knew why
But it bothers me

It bothers me to my core
Cos white supremacy programmed your black ass
To hate yourself and it gives them so much power….

Self hate triggers my bones
You let white people and other races degrade you
Can you look at you in the mirror and just see
There’s not a got damn single thing wrong with you….

On top of that,
You hate your own race,
So you date and marry someone outside your people
Cos you truly hate your black self….
You talk down to the people who looks like you…

Yet, Malcolm X was like who taught you to hate yourself?

Who told you to hate melaninated?
Who told you to hate your flawless sun poppin skin?
Who the fuck told you?
Cos I sure didn’t——

I didn’t tell you to hate your blackness….
Your melanin….your African your indigenous
Your original, your blueprint…

You better learn how to love your gorgeous self….

Black children catches the self hate
From their black adults or racist dominated society…
Even at early age….

Self hate triggers me….
And it’s scary
I think self hate should be scarier than
