As a little girl
I used a shoebox and turned it into a
Crib for my baby doll or a teddy bear
With napkins, handkerchief, fabrics as blankets
And pillows…I’ve always been creative…

Like before poetry…I knew as a
Child wanted to be a mother
Who nurtures with care and love….

I was livin in New York,
At the time
Livin in the Bronx

I used to sit on the floor
Makin a baby doll’s bed
Sometimes I use to sing
And rock the cradle…

That was a memory as a kid….
Use a shoebox
A Kleenex
Makin a bed for my baby to get tucked in….
I don’t remember readin a story…
It was nap time
Or night time…
