I saw on zoom, she told the staff
She wants a white guy…she doesn’t like
Black guys…I’m like
Stayin out of it….
I don’t expect that
These great individuals
Who would bring race to the
Panel….I didn’t expect that
At all….
I study race I observed race…
I think I shouldn’t
Laugh, it was funny and inappropriate
Cos we have diversity
In a group of different backgrounds
And the moment came out of the blue….
Sayin things like that….
I laugh and say I stay in my own lane…..
I was shocked
I might feel regret that
I should say somethin
To my friends who want to be with
Their white partners…
Then they’re not goin to listen
To me anyway…
It’s why I didn’t bother
It’s why I didn’t stir up the black power rant….
And yet
I didn’t observe the self hate
Within seconds….
I just mind my business
Cos
What would I say to that?
What would the first word that came from
My mouth?
It’s awkward
And we don’t talk about race….
Not sayin they’re racist….
I’m just sayin

And the fact is,
Sayin you wanna date a
White person
Or you’re with a white person
They didn’t have to bring that up
Like they got pride….

The kicker is that they don’t understand
White supremacy…..

Well we’re talkin about date night
In February they wanna do that….
Race came up
In an awkward way….
It’s why
I Laughed
At the way they said it…..
It’s not my business to go on
A rant on them…
I let them be….
They’re goin to do what they wanna do….
And I don’t like what a beautiful black woman says
About black men….
I should have said
Somethin about it
But like I said
