George Washington Carver wasn’t the guy who invented peanut butter, even though you were taught that in school.
What he ACTUALLY did was much, much more important. In the post-war South, the economy and environment were in absolute shambles. The soil throughout the Black Belt was exhausted and eroded from centuries of over-farming cotton. Freedmen were left hungry and destitute after being emancipated without reparations, and poor whites weren’t doing well at all, either. There was an epidemic of scurvy, starvation, and anemia.
Carver was famous for “working with peanuts” but peanut butter isn’t the big deal here. It was Carver who discovered that legumes can enrich soil with nitrogen and prevent erosion, and peanuts are a high-calorie, high-protein food. He cultivated specific strains of peanut that thrived in the most barren land in the South and promoted their use.
He also studied dozens of other plants, fine-tuning the exact needs and benefits of each variety, and found ways that the poorest farmers could actually IMPROVE, rather than EXHAUST, their soil and could actually feed their families. He taught thousands of people how to heal the wounds that slavery had left on the land and on the economy.
So peanut butter... no, not really. A paste preparation was one of the methods of preparing peanuts that he promoted, but it had existed among indigenous Central Americans for centuries and it really wasn’t his greatest accomplishment.
I think it’s time to remember George Washington Carver not as the reason you have Jif, but as the reason that starvation didn’t kill half the population of the Southeast.

What about mr. And mrs loving
What about mr. And mrs. Loving?
What about them?
They fought for love…
Well here’s the thing
Richard the white man still had power…..
White supremacy got his back…
Mildred Is a black woman
She doesn’t have power….
White supremacy doesn’t got her back…
I remember that listenin to where she has to
Change her identity or somethin…
But she has no power in that marriage….
Even she loves Richard with all her heart….
They literally have to fight to get marry in the state of
Virginia….
At the time, I used to be awe in their love…
I used to think love has no skin color
And the fact you can marry whoever you want….
I used to think why people have to fight for marriage
Only cos of skin color….
Til years later I learned about white supremacy
Doesn’t want white people to marry black people
So they can maintain their whiteness for their survival
Then when they look at white people shrinkin,
They were like uh oh….
So they have to let their white people marry black people
Cos they need to be here on earth….
I don’t know if they realize that durin mr. And mrs loving era
I don’t know if Richard is aware of his white genetic survival….
Maybe he was….when I watched the documentary and he said
He loves his wife…..
I’m not sayin black people can’t marry outside their race….
They’re not goin to Listen….that’s their business….
However white supremacy created agendas of interracial relationships
Being pushed on us as a weapon….
I have said this for a while
Interracial relationships affected melaninated race….
It really does….
And I know I dated white guys before….
And I ran into one incident where my ex called the police
On my brother…
I was confused……
But it didn’t stopped me from datin white guys
Durin the time…
I chose to be with black men instead
Only black men
Just cos of the history and psychology
And the fact is black woman needs a black man…
Black love is needed
Black love is wanted
Black love is a revolutionary act against racism…..
I learned to appreciate black men
Even more….
I wanna be with a black man….
I’m with a black man
And we understand each other
I said
Fuck interracial relationships
And you said what about mr. And mrs. Loving
What about them?
That’s their business…
They’re not around anymore
They passed away
A long time ago…
Again black people ain’t goin to listen
To the message, the truth
They’re goin to do what they want….
And many of them will get a brad or bob
Or Becky or Susan…
They’re not goin to listen to dr. Umar Johnson
When he tried to warn them about the Snowbunnies….
It’s why I stick to my own…..
I don’t want confusion
I don’t wanna disrespect myself
And my people….
Plus a white man doesn’t understand my black experience
He can only sympathizes….
If you think that’s racist,
I said no it’s not…
I don’t have power….
There’s no power in interracial relationships….
With Mildred she has no power,
Not even her biracial kids
Maybe some….
