Never thought I'd be alive to witness the beginning of the fall of the New Roman Empire, and yet, here I am...

Every empire, power has fallen, this one is not exempt...

Many empires have risen and fallen throughout history. Here are some of the most significant ones that no longer exist:

Ancient Empires:

1. Akkadian Empire (c. 2334–2154 BCE) – The first known empire in history, based in Mesopotamia.


2. Egyptian Empire (c. 3100 BCE–30 BCE) – Fell after Cleopatra VII's reign and Rome’s annexation.


3. Hittite Empire (c. 1600–1178 BCE) – Collapsed due to internal conflicts and external invasions.


4. Assyrian Empire (c. 2500–612 BCE) – Destroyed by the Babylonians and Medes.


5. Babylonian Empire (c. 1894–539 BCE) – Conquered by the Persian Achaemenid Empire.


6. Persian (Achaemenid) Empire (c. 550–330 BCE) – Overthrown by Alexander the Great.



Classical Empires:

7. Macedonian Empire (336–323 BCE) – Collapsed after Alexander the Great's death.


8. Roman Empire (27 BCE–476 CE in the West, 1453 in the East) – The Western Roman Empire fell to barbarian invasions; the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire fell to the Ottomans.


9. Maurya Empire (321–185 BCE) – Weakened and fragmented into smaller states.


10. Gupta Empire (c. 319–550 CE) – Declined due to invasions and internal strife.



Medieval Empires:

11. Sassanian Empire (224–651 CE) – Conquered by the early Islamic Caliphates.


12. Umayyad Caliphate (661–750 CE) – Overthrown by the Abbasids.


13. Abbasid Caliphate (750–1258 CE, 1261–1517 CE as a figurehead state) – Destroyed by the Mongols in 1258; later ruled in name under the Mamluks and Ottomans.


14. Holy Roman Empire (800–1806 CE) – Dissolved by Napoleon.


15. Byzantine Empire (330–1453 CE) – Conquered by the Ottomans.



Early Modern Empires:

16. Ming Dynasty (1368–1644 CE) – Overthrown by the Qing Dynasty.


17. Aztec Empire (1428–1521 CE) – Defeated by Spanish conquistadors.


18. Inca Empire (1438–1533 CE) – Conquered by the Spanish.


19. Ottoman Empire (1299–1922 CE) – Dissolved after World War I.


20. Mughal Empire (1526–1857 CE) – Declined under British rule and officially ended in 1857.



Modern Empires:

21. Spanish Empire (1492–1976 CE) – Declined due to wars and independence movements.


22. Portuguese Empire (1415–1999 CE) – Lost most of its colonies by the 20th century.


23. French Colonial Empire (1605–1980 CE) – Gradually dissolved after World War II.


24. British Empire (1583–1997 CE) – Lost its colonies through decolonization, with Hong Kong being the last major territory returned.


25. German Empire (1871–1918 CE) – Ended after World War I.


26. Austro-Hungarian Empire (1867–1918 CE) – Collapsed after World War I.


27. Russian Empire (1721–1917 CE) – Overthrown in the Russian Revolution, leading to the Soviet Union.
