In 1952, Jomo Kenyatta was accused of being supreme leader of the Mau Mau (KLFA) by the British. He was arrested, ran through a mockery of a trial and sentenced to 7 years of hard labour! Jomo Kenyatta was not leader of the KLFA, that was Dedan Kimathi, however he was a notable political figure. Following his release in 1961 he worked negotiating the terms of Kenyan independence. He was appointed Prime Minister of Kenya in 63 and once independence was gained he became the first President of Kenya in 64! Evidently scarred by his experience, Jomo Kenyatta held a strong non violent stance, creating distance between his beliefs and that of The KLFA. While The KLFA asserted that the colonisers must leave or die, Jomo Kenyatta repeatedly urged Kenyans to forgive the past and to look forward.
The British DEMONS made a colony of Kenya in 1920 and went on to murder thousands of Africans indiscriminately! By the 1950's many Kenyans joined the Kenya Land Freedom Army (KLFA) led by Dedan Kimathi and took to the forests to defend themselves and their land to the death. A state of emergency was declared by the demons who insisted on taking the land for themselves and ANY Kenyan was subject to being labelled a member of the "Mau Mau" (what the British named the KLFA) and executed.
