If I were a successful poet…
If I were a successful poet,
And my books sell worldwide…
How they outdo others, and those messages were
Heavy on the ear, on the soul…
Especially when I’m speakin of racism…
Knowin some certain people wouldn’t like what I say,
At the same time, they never like how I succeed…
They would tone my success down…
They would find my way to dim my light….
Cos the world loves me…
It’s not my ego….
It’s the way I do things to inspire people,
To get people think….
First of all, they be hatin on me
Cos I’m black, I’m a woman and I have a disability
And if my fame gets way ahead to make others jealous,
Accordin to them, I’m not surprise to be better than them
I’m suppose to be in the back….I’m not supposed to have such
A power in my hands to the point I’m a target….
I didn’t do it on purpose…or maybe I did….
White men holds too much power for too long…
They never want their own women to have power
They definitely don’t want black people to have power….
If you become successful,
They will find ways to tone your success down…
Like make up a rumor or put you in jail,
They always have an agenda to make you stay down….
Honestly, it’s not fair, not cool….
White men ain’t the only one who can shine the most,
Not even white women…..
Think about it,
If you have power, makin a chess move and you outsmart them
They will literally make a bad example out of you…
Look at Michael Jackson,
He bought the Beatles, half of Sony, and he wanted to
Buy marvel…he did have Eminem’s catalog…
He was a smart businessman…
He was a black man….
He did more than entertain…
And these people, they don’t like that…
You know how they feel about
A black man who got too much power…
They killed him….
They embarrassed him
And killed…
So if I were better than white men,
If I were go way ahead of them
They be like we gotta do somethin about that,
Even with white women
They might take all my poetry books off the shelf
They might plan to ban my voice….
To keep me away from the public eye….
They might threaten to make me edit my poems
Switch my words around to say somethin like
There’s no such thing as racism….
You never know….
Cos that position is actually dangerous…..
If your success went beyond
Like over the finish line
And these people are behind
They throw tantrums….
I wouldn’t know it was competition….
Or maybe I do….
Honestly
White men doesn’t like when
People who don’t look like them
Have the most power….
They hate the fact that they have more
Than them…we have seen this
Too many times….
Does it remind you black Wall Street
A little bit?
It had more success than any white town
And white people tore everythin down…
It’s kinda the same thing
But with a person…
They’re genuine haters who dim someone’s light
To make a prime humiliated example out of someone
Who does actually better than them….
Like we ain’t allowed to be better than them…
Only white able men should be better…
It’s been a standard for decades
And it’s stupid….
I’m being real….
I mean let’s discuss it
This is a fact
I’m sure everyone noticed and observed,
Right?
Go through history,
We both know it’s a white man’s world….
And we ain’t allow to be better than him sometimes…
He’s not better than anyone
He’s not superior….
He doesn’t even bathe for years
And we’re not allow to outthink him….
This is somethin for your brain to meditate on
Somethin to ponder….
You’re sayin it’s only white men who have power
Not any of you…
No white women
No black people
No other races
Just a white man….
To me it’s psychotic….
We live in a world where the white man rule
And you are not supposed to win…
That’s my observation….
That’s my assumption…
I mean white supremacy everywhere
Right?
