It is merely a pretense that slavery has ended, for it truly halted a mere three decades ago. Even now, we find ourselves grappling with the legacy of our forebears - parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents - as they attempt to process the real-time fallout of the post-traumatic slave syndrome.
And yet, at the same time, they are confronted with a system that has eroded into a technical open-air prison, forcing them to reckon with the mental toll of systematic oppression. The intersectionality of drugs, crack, and the ubiquitous biological weapons such as AIDS, ADHD, fluoride, and processed foods, ravages these communities.
To exacerbate this, we have been red-lined into the corners of the country and policed relentlessly. As we hurtle toward 2024, there is reason to believe that the beast system has evolved - morphing into an artificial intelligence algorithm-hunter program. The tools of oppression have expanded beyond media falsification and deepfake technology, to include relentless hacking attacks and the systematic dismantling of fiat currency. Cypto-currencies appear to be the only recourse - but at what cost?
This program has created a situation in which we are surrounded by white media, leaving us little option to seek out melanated thinkers and writers. The result? We risk losing the incalculable contributions of our ancestors, who have painstakingly laid out a blueprint and done the legwork of piecing together our history. These are the things I ponder, in real time.
