Here's a labeling loophole that may have you eating crickets where you don't even know.
Because there's so much pushback and people don't want this insect based protein in their food supply, labelers are allowed to use the breed of the cricket instead of using the word cricket itself to make you think you're eating some kind of fancy protein.
Acheta . is a well known cricket breed that is commonly used in proteins and so you'll just see Acheta protein in your powder thinking that you got something fancy.
If you have an investigated cricket protein, I can tell you three big reasons why you shouldn't be eating it.
One is they're loaded with arsenic, heavy metals that will kill you.
Second is they're loaded with parasites, which will eventually get passed on to you.
Third, you need 10 tablespoons of protein powder to get the equivalent of what you get from a single serving of meat.
