Rise Up This Mornin, Smile With The Risin 🌞

In elephant herds, the matriarch, usually the oldest and most experienced female, plays a crucial role in guiding and protecting the group.

When a young calf seeks milk from other females (a behavior known as allomothering) because its mother is unable to produce enough due to factors like a lack of water, the matriarch’s presence can influence the herd’s movements in search of resources.

This behavior highlights the matriarch’s role as a leader who guides the herd towards the well-being of its members, including the young calves.
