Senegalese Opposition Leader Ends Hunger Strike

Senegalese opposition leader Ousmane Sonko is reported to have ended a hunger strike he started following his arrest in late July. Reports say he decided to end his hunger strike after some Muslim leaders had urged him to do so.

Due to his health deterioration, he was admitted to intensive care unit last month.

Sonko had been charged with insurrection, undermining state security and terrorist activity.

He had already been banned from standing in next year's presidential election after a court sentenced him to two years in prison for "corrupting youth".

Whenever a woman and i are about to get serious (meaning we're transitioning from casual dating and sex to exclusivity), i always have a serious conversation with them about this. i make it clear that my friends, including my female friends, will remain a part of my life. they won't leave, and i won't stop talking to them or hanging out with them. these friends are incredibly important to me and are like family. i emphasize that she shouldn't have an issue with me spending time with my friends, especially my female friends. i won't tolerate jealousy or demands to cut ties with them. i always make this extremely clear and let them know that if this is something they can't handle, we can continue having fun until one of us decides to move on.

i understand that i might be unique when it comes to this because i'm not afraid of confrontation. however, i strongly recommend that other guys also have these uncomfortable conversations early on to avoid ending up in complicated situations like in this skit. i acknowledge that even after such conversations, some ladies may pretend they never happened, but having that initial discussion provides you with the foundation you need for future arguments and gives you the moral high ground in case of a breakup.
