This meme was created by a brown person (Latino). I explained to him that I didn't think it was a good idea to place Ancstrs hanging from trees, especially black people (Ancstrs). That black people have seen enough of their people hanging from trees and wouldn't appreciate a image/meme like this. He didn't appreciate me saying that and tried to justify his art saying that the same thing happened to his Ancstrs, that he created art/memes with them hanging in trees.
See, that's the thing about race relations especially when it comes to some brown people. They too don't have that level of love and raspect for black people as some black people are foolish to beLIEve they do. I raspect artistic freedom their creations and their personal rendition and expression of their art. I'm just not feelin' this guys artistic idea nor the message it has. I explained to the artist that black people would prefer not to see themselves hanging from anything especially a tree. He didn't care and said he was gonna make more anyway. My angle is, just use Latin (your own) people then is all. Thoughts?
Queen Nzinga of Ndongo (Angola 🇦🇴) was a powerful Monarch who successfully kept the Portuguese out of her land for 35 years. In order to fight off Portugal 🇵🇹, (who wanted to conquer the area to further the slave trade) Nzinga conquered neighboring kingdoms to expand her territory and aligned herself with the Dutch. Nzinga led her warriors in battle until her sixties and defied numerous assassination attempts to die peacefully in her sleep at 81 in 1663. Nzinga impact was so strong that she prevented the Portuguese from reaching deep into Southwest Africa until her death. Angola would finally be free of Portuguese control centuries later in 1975.
