We desire to bequest two things to our children; roots and wings." African proverb
It has been spoken by many: that it's better to teach children how to think, instead of what to think. Agreeably so, but how does one go about this noble calling?
First of all, encourage children by telling them they're smart when they ask questions. The fact is, someone who is asking questions is the one actually thinking more about things. Another reason is that they're expanding their knowledge. Since it's not possible to know everything, asking to know is better than pretending to know.
This includes adults. Don't be ashamed to ask when you don't know. If a child asks you a question which you have no answer, don't chase them away, tell them, "let's find out together!" Learn together. Today we have the internet don't we? Do a Google search and discover the answer.
Buy children books to read. Watching TV, cartoons or playing video games is fun, but too much of it doesn't help improve their intellect. Be involved in your child's academic progress, don't leave that only for their school teachers.
Like the/our great Ancestor Baba Jegna Ndugu El Hajj Malik El Shabazz aka Malcolm X (PBUH) asked his own people “who taught you how to hate yourself?” Who’s responsible for teaching you that you’re something called a nggr black man and woman? Tragic how the white race has cursed and stigmatized Afrikans under their spell of white power and addiction to nggrism. The acceptance of the white supremacist derogatory word/term of hatred for a identity is a demonstration of the psychological damage and menticidal condition Afrikan descendants are portraying as something positive and constructive when in reality it’s actually something negative and destructive. There’s no decency nor self-respectability in accepting a derogatory word of low vibration/energy and hatred knowing (for those that do know) where the word/term derives from which are devils.
Heal and redeem yourself from the curse/spell and addiction to nggrism and stop disraspecting and dishonoring the Ancstrs identifying yourself by a word/term that violated and disraspected them. Black people should be shamed of themselves for accepting such wretchedness.
