Why not a 3 mile long communication wire?

1. The placenta is an organ that connects the developing fetus to the uterine wall in mammals, including humans.

2. The placenta allows for the transfer of nutrients, oxygen, and waste products between the mother and fetus.

3. The placenta also acts as an endocrine gland, producing hormones such as progesterone, estrogen, and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).

4. The size of the placenta is proportional to the size of the fetus, and it typically grows to about 1/6th of the weight of the fetus.

5. In some cultures, the placenta is traditionally buried or consumed in order to symbolize the mother’s connection to her child and promote postpartum healing!
