This is one of my favorite quotes. We are the light. Our souls are the light. They successfully dim our light. But nonetheless, we are the light.
Did Dr. MLK do us a service or disservice? He inspired us. He empowered us. He did his job. He fulfilled his purpose. They traumatized us then rocked right back to sleep.
Instead of continuing on with the stregnth he gave us, we let them break us, and continue to break us while feeding us breadcrumbs in the form of crack and subsidies. Is that what we do in relationships? Let them beat us down? Manipulate us? Gaslight us?
Or do we leave them, take time to heal and reshine our light with elevation knowing that there is better out there, if we allow ourselves to attract it (Law of attraction applies here too). Does it hurt yes? But it doesnt have to break us. Nope!
We are the inventors, the innovators, and the creators.... the healers. Our women create entire populations in every skin color known to human kind. We are the strong ones physically and mentally and have the biggest heart and souls. What if we kept the fight going and reached total equality. We would have still been black just equally black. Because of who we are, we would have still created our own spaces with our own culture. We allows ourselves to become complacent. This is just accountability. I love us now and later. There will never be a time when Im not B1 and that means honoring Dr.
Martin Luther King today and everyday. ❤️🖤💚
