I started to say
Black people are humans, too in my poems
Cos of racism the system treated us like shit
All the time….
Yes I have to bring up race
Cos what makes black people human?
We have the ability to love
Other races even though
Other races are not our friends
Sometimes….
We’re not our own friends
Either….yet we should….
Black people shouldn’t dehumanize
Each other….we should be one another’s spine
As a black race, meanin we have to unite
As a nation, we don’t have to be best of friends
Though black person who speaks code with another
Black person….
Maybe friends are not the term as far as chess goes….
What about respect and dignity?
Understandin?
Though we have to love each other
And get along with one another….
Most importantly
We gotta love ourselves…
We’re humans…
We have to think and feel like humans
Cos
White supremacy has really fuck us up
Fuck us over…
They taught us how to dehumanize our own race
Sayin we’re animals, we’re nobody
We don’t feel pain…
And they’re doin that on purpose…
No hard feelings…
For their 24/7 business,

I understand they don’t wanna vanish
However
It doesn’t make it ok….
Black people are humans
We feel pain
We feel joy
We have trauma
We can break cycles
And there are times
We can’t….
I’m aware of other races are humans…
The problem is that
The system treated black people like they are nothin
Why do you think we have to bring race?
Why do you think we have Jim Crow?
Mass incarceration?
Police brutality?
Even other black people treated black people like
They hate them,
Usin dark skin vs. light skin
And it came from colonization
Even with our hair texture
The ones who hate themselves
Are the ones who tells black girls to use perm
Or hot comb to straighten their coils out…
Especially skin bleachin to be closer to whiteness as
Possible….
That’s dehumanizin…
We’re not humans
Who kill ourselves cos
We don’t adore our own melanin…
And it’s also violence….
Black people
We’re humans
I will have to keep sayin
That forever…
To get on your nerves…
Cos systemic oppression
Is creatin more genocides out of us
Even when it’s dyin….
