Why is it all about race?
Cos it is….
Everywhere we go,
It’s about race….
Our oppression has pretty much
Stalked us anywhere we stand….
When we talk about race,
We get told to be quiet….
Like nobody wants to hear….
Nobody cares….
They be like pull up by your bootstraps
And deal with it….
It’s not fair….

It is not fair
At all….
Especially when we tell the truth
We get called racist
That doesn’t make sense…..
Honey it’s about race…
Whether we speak it or not
It’s about race….
I don’t like someone saying
Skin color doesn’t matter,
Can you tell that to white supremacy?
Cos they sure care about melanin in our skin
I dare you…
I mean they created a system to boss
Melaninated people around on earth….

It’s about race, honey…..
Black people are at war with racism
Every single day…
Even when they don’t have much
Experiences….or not aware
Of it…they still feel somethin wrong…..

This is why we talk about racism
The history, discuss many reasons
Also when we talk about race,
Sometimes it gets violent….
Meanin white people will be
Uncomfortable givin us the silent treatment
Cos we’re speakin facts about race
Like they don’t wanna feel guilty….

It’s why in Florida
They have a law now
Where you cannot teach African American
Studies in school anymore…..
White supremacy did that….
And it’s dehumanizin…..

They don’t want black people
To uprise….
I’d like to respond to this,
First of all
Black parents should pull their kids out
Of public schools and teach them
Their own history…..fuck that…
Or black activists can go to school
And teach them black history
As breakin the law…..
They don’t mind goin to prison
To get beaten up for tellin the students
About rosewood and how it burns down
Cos white people were jealous….

It’s about race….
People will deny it’s not
Though it is…..
It’s about race….

Cos white supremacy made it so….

And the ignorance has gotten my nerves
Boilin cos people be like

I don’t see color….stop talkin about it….
Get over it past is in the past….

Cos y’all want it to replay, continue to go on
Meanin white people don’t wanna lose their power….
They don’t wanna lose their genetic survival…..
Do you understand?

It’s why black people talks about race
And how it bothers them a lot….
They have to fight back in so many ways….
And most of them don’t wanna be violent towards
System cos we’re still in a condition where we fear of
Dyin….they shouldn’t but they scared…..
So we do what we can….

Let me put it this way,
White supremacy doesn’t think black people
Ain’t human….
They make us think we’re not humans….

It’s why race keeps poppin up
At random times….
Cos we witnessed the dehumanization
The mass of destruction in our own faces
Some of us are too colorblind, too dumb
To see it…..
Some of us don’t wanna mention the word, race….

Yes black people are angry but not angry enough
To destroy the whole system….
We learned how to get used to it….
To be in a prison of war…..
We also learned that there’s nothin we can do
About it….

So it’s about race,
It’s always about race…
The best thing we can do is
To keep talkin about race….
It’s our daily experience….
We have to let other black people know
If they’re willin to listen….

I've heard ppl say "we are not our ancestors". They are so correct in this statement. Our ancestors were comfortable with being uncomfortable. 381 days that Montgomery Bus Boycott lasted but yall couldn't get past pre season.
