Captain Ibrahim Traoré...
Born March 14, 1988, in Kéra, western Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 is Africa's youngest Head of State.
He studied geology at the University of Ouagadougou before joining the army in 2009, training in Morocco and rising through the ranks—lieutenant in 2014, captain in 2020. He served with UN peacekeepers in Mali and fought jihadist insurgents in northern Burkina Faso, growing disillusioned with corrupt leadership and under-equipped troops.
In September 2022, at age 34, he led a coup ousting interim president Paul-Henri Damiba, becoming the country's second junta leader in a single year. Since then, he's distanced Burkina Faso from France and ECOWAS, aligned with Russia and fellow Sahel juntas in Mali and Niger, and pursued a nationalist, anti-imperialist agenda. He's survived multiple alleged coup attempts and dissolved the country's political parties in 2026, citing national unity over Western-style democracy.
They say he is evil, but look at the what he has done for his country so far. wipipo always call what Melanated People do evil...
