NIGERIA DID FRANCE\S DIRTY WORK IN BENIN In another segment of our wide-ranging interview, Booker Omole, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Kenya, explains how France and the US worked together to turn Nigeria into their proxy force against the apparent anti-imperialist coup in Benin on 7 December. Effectively, France provided the political direction, desperate to maintain one of its last remaining West African footholds and to prevent the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) from gaining access to the sea.

Meanwhile, the United States provided Nigeria with most of the military hardware involved. As David Hundeyin of West Africa Weekly revealed in a previous interview, much of this equipment had never been deployed in Nigeria's own internal war against takfiri extremism. It is a clear sign that the country's neocolonial masters had dictated one—and only one - use case: the crushing of anti-imperialist resistance in a neighbouring African country.

Yep, this is true. His crimes are real and documented. But let's apply your logic to other men Americans herald as heroes.

By your logic, Thomas Jefferson’s serial rape of an enslaved teenager should nullify the Declaration of Independence. George Washington’s lifelong trafficking of human beings should disqualify the presidency itself.

James Madison’s slaveholding should void the Constitution. Andrew Jackson’s ethnic cleansing of Indigenous nations should collapse American democracy outright. John C. Calhoun’s open worship of slavery should invalidate every theory of states’ rights, which is still taught with a straight face.

Hell, Martin Luther’s vicious-ass antisemitism should dismantle Protestant Christianity at its root.

Henry Ford’s admiration for Hitler should shut down modern manufacturing. Walt Disney’s racism should burn the entire American nostalgia industry to the ground. Cecil Rhodes’s genocidal ideology should have erased his scholarships, statues, and institutional afterlife decades ago.

And Christianity itself would not survive five minutes if the brutality of crusaders, colonizers, enslavers, and child-abusing clergy were treated as disqualifying.

America has NEVER been a society that discards its institutions because their architects were morally grotesque. So miss me with this argument when it comes to Kwanzaa's origins.
