Ugandan ๐บ๐ฌ officials have strongly criticized the World Bank ๐ฆ and Western nations for their perceived โhypocrisyโ after the global lender suspended lending for projects in Uganda ๐บ๐ฌ.
The World Bankโs decision was prompted by Ugandaโs enactment of a new anti-homosexuality ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ law, which the Bank cited as a violation of its values.
Ugandaโs ๐บ๐ฌ State Minister for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem said the move by the World Bank was hypocritical.
He accused the Western entities of being quick to lecture vulnerable countries about democracy, only to turn around and punish them when they do what doesnโt suit the interests of Western powers and allied institutions.
