All federally regulated employers in Canada đ¨đĻ are now required to stock free feminine hygiene products such as tampons and menstrual pads in all male restrooms â including airports and military bases.
The new regulations, which went into effect earlier this month under Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeauâs left-wing administration, specify that menstrual products must be in âall toilet rooms, regardless of their marked genders,â according to Canadaâs Employment and Social Development website.
âThis means that every female-identified, male-identified and all-gender toilet rooms will need to have menstrual products,â the website says, noting that the availability of these items âbetter protects menstruating employees and makes sure that they feel safe to use the toilet room that best reflects their gender.â
