Today I want to encourage you to brush up on your survival skills. Maybe you can learn something that will enable you in the time of need.

Take a CPR class - Groupon offers these really cheap.

Weapon defense - Groupon also usually has Gun permit and range courses offered online for cheap.

Learn to garden. - There are so many growing starter kits out now, even for children. Take time to learn to cultivate something. Learn how long it takes from seed to harvest.

Is there anything you know how to do with your hands that will help you earn money and or survive? I.e. can you sew or knit clothing, are you able to chop wood?

Do you know how to start a fire using sticks and wood?

Do you know east from west and north from south?

Can you read a map or atlas?

Can you clean wounds?

Can you give stitches?

These are things we can learn and teach ourselves over time and don’t be afraid to ask someone that does know how to teach you! Maybe a father, brother, cousin or uncle, maybe a sister, aunt or friend.

Tap into your resources. Many of you know nurses, doctors, dentist, military personnel and veterans. Ask them to share with you how some of these things are done. And practice it on your free time.
