Research from the Kyoto University in Japan has shown that young chimpanzees possess a superior photographic memory compared to humans.
In memory tests created by Japanese scientists, young chimps were able to outperform university students when recalling the sequence and location of numbers on a screen by a factor of 10.
This study suggests that the intellectual capabilities of our closest living relatives may have been underestimated.
