I don't believe he was brainwashed to call his parents racists. I can agree they were being "concerned parents" to a certain extent. When you have black folks who tell you you're not black enough and yt folks telling you you're not white enough, you tend to choose a side you'd rather be a part of. Society for years have made it a point to say one drop of black blood means you're not good enough to be considered as white. Then you have people talking about light skins and dark skins in the black community, but then you have yt America that only sees black and not the different shades we see amongst ourselves. What is expected of people in his position?
