Google has shared more information about its Universal Speech Model (USM), an AI model that supports 1,000 different language models. The tech giant describes USM as a family of state-of-the-art speech models with 2 billion parameters for 12 million hours of speech and 28 billion text sentences in over 300 languages. According to a Monmouth University poll, only 9% of Americans believe that AI will do more good than harm.
The remainder are divided between saying AI would do equal amounts of harm and good (46%) or that it would actually do more harm to society overall (41%). I'm in that 25% that not only believes, but knows...A.I. will fuck us the hell up!
