While working at Smith and Wesson I had the pleasure of meeting an older woman by the name of Dora. She was a pleasant but stern ol' lady who spoke primarily spanish in her pitchy tone. Dora was Columbian and would talk about it quite proudly whenever mentioned.

I made the classic Columbian, Coke and Pablo joke to which she looked confused, almost lost as to what I was speaking on. Sooo... I explain the coke trade and who Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar was.

She looked sad/disappointed but her voice was strong when she let me know that her Country is a Great Place! With loving people and a beautiful terrian. How upsetting it was that her home had been reduced to such.

There is always a lil' Truth in every Joke.
But what happens when the Joke becomes the "Truth"
We become a mockery or reduction of what we truly are.
