Black anger

Black anger isn’t enough
To go against the system…
We’re not angry…
We’re told not to be
Though we should be….
White folks do fear our emotions
Yet some still think
We’re not humans…
Is it a part of why they fear?
I’m askin for a friend….

Cos we deal with this
A lot
A whole lot
Everyday….
Whether it’s microaggression
In the office
Or police brutality in the streets…

People assumed
That black women are angry
Has a bad attitude
Which isn’t the case….
They were told to smile
And be kind

And the black men
I heard old white women
Clutches their purse,
Thinkin these brothas would rob
Their money sometimes they would call
The cops on them just for being black…

Black person gets followed by an Asian
Manager,
Black person’s creativity gets plagiarized by an
Becky…
Or by bob….

And we see why
Black anger does exist
Cos we have to deal with
Oppression….though
We’re not mad enough….

We’re not mad at white supremacy….
We’re not at the people who doesn’t look like us….

Do you know what gets me upset?
When I was told not talk about racism
Black history
The real truth
Cos people tell me I got white friends
And I might lose them just like I did before….

The fact is
I’m in love with
Facts, I’m in love with
Critical thinkin…. And I won’t apologize
For it….black anger comes out of my soul
When I see my people
Who gets mistreated by other races….
And by our own….
Black anger comes out
When i see a black person
Hates himself or herself
Cos of melanin
Black anger comes out
When I witness ignorance and cognitive dissonance
Black anger comes out
When I hear black people forgive white supremacy over and over
Givin them a pass
Black anger comes out
When they do dumb shit sometimes
Black anger comes out
When we’re not goin to fight back if necessary…

Black people
Need to be angry
And i know it’s not always good to have
Rage in our souls
But we should be angry
We should be angry at white supremacy
All the time
Cos it’s an unfair system….

We don’t burn buildings
That is white supremacy
Though we burn our own homes
The grocery store
Anythin…we take our black anger
On each other instead of our enemy…

Negropeans
They’re not goin to change….

However
We can’t be angry at our own people
Forever…..
We have to fix mistakes and a lot of us
Are used to livin with racism
That continues to hurt our feelings…

It’s sad

We’re
Supposed to
Crush the whole system on the planet
Down….we should annihilate white supremacy
For good…

Yet we’re not that angry
Look at our conditions
Look at the religions
Look at self hate, that’s a big one….
Look at everythin that keeps us holdin back

I observe that black people
Will always defend every race
Except theirs and it will always bring
Black anger out of my heart….

It’s like really….
I keep thinkin to myself
That self hate is too real..
It makes me uncomfortable…

When I watched YouTube videos
Or sometimes read articles about
How black people doesn’t love them
Cos they think they’re too dark or too ugly….
And there’s so much colorism involved too which comes
From the slavery and colonization…
When I see that mentality, the way they talk about
How bad blackness is, it just brings black anger flew
Out into its own poems….

I blame white supremacy…
I will always blame the system…
What should I be happy about being abused
By the racism?
I shouldn’t….
I get trigger
When I’m learnin about this topic
For me to talk about it
In my tappin thumbs on screen keyboard
I should be able to share
The awareness without givin a fuck
Especially I don’t care about
White people feelings…

Cos they knew
What they’re doin know what I’m talkin about
They may act like they don’t know…
Though they know…it’s why they get defensive
And stutter
And there’s guilt and fragility
