On April 12, 1864. The Battle of Fort Pillow took place. During this fight, over 300 Black Union soldiers were killed even after they surrendered to then General Nathan Bedford Forrest in Lauderdale County, Tennessee.

Honestly, yes I did vote for Barry O in 2009. I didn't vote for him because I was disillusioned thinking that he could do anything specifically for the black race, I voted for him because I didn't want to miss out on the ourstorical opportunity and chance to vote for the first (obvious) black POTUS. After all how would I be able to explain to my grandchildren that their GrandBaba was "pro-Black" but didn't vote for the black man running for president. I voted for him mainly because I didn't want to MISS OUT on the opportunity/chance.
