Traditional Mali Henna Called Diabi Fever in beauty salons in the country, the origin of henna has a traditional root and marks a strong trait in Malian culture. Originally, henna, called diabi in Mali, was only used by older women. Today, the craze has spread among young women, who adorn their hands and feet for special occasions such as baptisms, weddings, and religious celebrations such as Tabasqui and waiting for Ramadan. Currently, there are two types of henna used. The first and most modern is the typical Indian henna, which is imported into the country. The second is traditional Malian henna, made from the diboson plant, also known as the paradise plant.
